| Ruthlessly tossed overboard, Edward Prendick is rescued and restored to health on a remote tropical island. His curiousity, provoked by the island's piercing night screams and animal-like natives, soon reveals a frightening reality. Dr. Moreau, ostracized from London society for his cruel experiments on animals, has sought privacy on the lush island for the continuation of his highly controversial research. As Moreau's experiments become progressively advanced, the lines between God/science and Man/Beast become perilously blurred. Based on H.G. Well's novel "The Island of Dr. Moreau," this riveting theatrical adventure comes alive with exotic imagery, bringing new light to contemporary issues of science and ethics. The run of Moreau has ended. Please come back soon for information on our 2002-2003 season. |
